Canadian Tax Changes 2027

Every 2027 figure we track, next to its 2026 value. Figures CRA, ESDC or Parliament have already set are marked as such; the rest say when they are normally published, and this table updates when they are.

Provinces

Provincial brackets and credits are indexed separately, mostly from January 1, and are published between November and January. Two provinces have already fixed their 2027 position:

  • British Columbia paused indexation of its basic personal tax credits for the 2027 to 2030 tax years (B.C. Budget 2026).
  • Manitoba has held its basic personal amount and bracket thresholds at 2024 levels since the 2025 tax year (Manitoba Budget 2025).

Frequently asked questions

What tax changes are already confirmed for 2027 in Canada?
The RRSP dollar limit is $35,390 (up from $33,810), the EI employee rate is 1.64% (from 1.63%) and EI maximum insurable earnings rise to $70,800. The FHSA annual room stays at $8,000 because it is fixed in the Income Tax Act. Bill C-30's cut of the CPP employee rate from 5.95% to 5.75% is enacted but not yet in force.
When will the 2027 tax brackets and basic personal amount be announced?
CRA publishes the indexed federal brackets and basic personal amount each November. Until then the 2026 basic personal amount of $16,452 applies, and this page shows the 2027 figure the day CRA posts it.
Has the 2027 TFSA limit been announced?
Not yet. Finance Canada and CRA usually confirm it in November. It is $7,000 for 2026; working it out from Statistics Canada's September CPI under Income Tax Act s.207.01(1) gives $7,500 for 2027, but that is our calculation and not a CRA figure. How the TFSA limit is set.
Will I pay less CPP in 2027?
Not settled yet. Bill C-30 would lower the employee CPP rate from 5.95% to 5.75%, but it takes effect on a day fixed by order in council, and CPP Act s.114(4) requires the consent of two thirds of the provinces with two thirds of their population first. Until then the rate stays 5.95%. The 2027 earnings ceiling (YMPE) is not published yet, and a higher ceiling means contributions on more of a high earner's pay, so the maximum contribution can still go up. What the CPP rate cut changes.
Do the provinces change their tax amounts for 2027?
Most provinces index their brackets and credits each January and publish the figures between November and January. Two are already settled: British Columbia paused indexation of its basic personal tax credits for the 2027 to 2030 tax years, and Manitoba has held its basic personal amount and bracket thresholds at 2024 levels since the 2025 tax year.
